Simple function and visual elegance combine for the optimum extraction of full rich-bodied coffee with this chemex classic coffee maker. Featuring a borosilicate glass construction for long lasting durability, it has a polished wood collar and leather tie. This unique style of coffee maker allows you to make coffee as strong as you like, without the bitterness, because the coffee only comes in contact with the scientifically designed filter and non-porous glass. This merging of form and function came out of chemist peter schlumbohm’s taste for fine flavor. Applying the techniques used to insure laboratory purity, he set out to brew what may have been the first cup of truly clear, full-bodied coffee, free of undesirable fats, oils, sediment, and, most of all, bitterness. Made in the usa, it has an easy to use design. Simply place coffee in the filter inside the coffee maker, and pour in boiling water.5-1/4″ diameter x 9-1/4″ h, with a 50 ounce capacity

My wife now uses the last one as a flower vase :-DChemex generally gives a cleaner taste than v60 due to its thicker…

The Best Coffee Maker Makes the Best Coffee I grew up in a house where my parents had used a Chemex coffee maker since 1955. So when my wife moved to ‘deplasticise’ our kitchen some 8 years ago, we too became avid Chemex users. The simple process produces a clean taste that leaves the ‘fancy’ machines way behind and with Chemex one never has to worry about contamination from the PET plastics or potentially dirty tubes that you often find in other coffee makers. We chose the Chemex version with a handle due to its convenience, but both…

I love the handle version SOOOOO much better than the wood … I love the handle version SOOOOO much better than the wood version. THough, I do wish they make one with a glass handle and a wood wrap just for aesthetics, since the wood/glass combo looks really good. But functionally, it’s much easier to hold the glass handle.
