Like a Chemex, but with a Metal Filter! Good find! Makes brilliant pour over coffee. I was impressed with the quality of the metal filter as well. I’m not sure if you can use paper filters with this as well (as you would with the Chemex) but this is not a bad design. The glass is a little on the thin side, and makes me nervous everytime I wash it. The plastic cuff does get quite hot, but if you try to keep your index finger and thumb on the rubber clasp, it should avoid scalding you. But this makes brilliant pourover coffee, I just have to get…

I love this! I have started drinking ‘proper’ coffee I love this! I have started drinking ‘proper’ coffee, having tried various non-electric coffee makers, I have found this the best. I base this on the ease of use and, importantly for me, the ease of cleaning. It also looks stunning.

Definitely for us coffee snobs…. Elegant design for a real coffee snob (like me!). The manual pour over method (I remember when you only did this if you couldn’t afford a filter machine!) can make a very smooth brew, and produces the best results if you take your time, adding the water slowly in stages, and use a lighter roasted bean. Even better if you grind the beans yourself – halfway between coarse cafetiere and fine espresso. I use filter papers but I don’t think it is necessary as the filter provided seems adequate. I…
