You get what you pay for I originally used a Bodum but I dropped it and broke the glass. I decided to buy and supermarket ‘cheapy’ for £7. To be fair its lasted for around 2 years but eventually the push down mesh filter doesnt form a decent seal with the glass and grains of coffee seep past and get into your cup. So back to the Bodum. I know that Bodum is a respected brand and usually … I know that Bodum is a respected brand and usually has high quality products, so I must be unlucky. I have had my cafetiere for 6 months and after pouring hot water in the bottom has cracked severe enough to make it unusable. I expect a product to last longer than 6 months, especially since it isn’t heavily used. Disappointing.
Real filter coffee at a coffee break I bought this when my more affordable, non-brand 1 person cafetiere broke down. This one is sturdy and easy to clean. I have used it for 3 weeks now and I am very happy for it. The price (£10.99) is less than what major department stores charge for it.
